Important: If you feel you have a life threatening emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

What is the Telephone Care Program?

  • The TELEPHONE CARE PROGRAM lets you talk to a Registered Nurse who can answer your health care questions or obtain assistance from other health care providers.
  • The TCP nurse can determine the seriousness of your health problem and provide you with information on how best to manage your concerns.

When do I call TCP?

  • After regular office hours, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Call us when you have questions about health problems, medications or upcoming tests.
  • During regular office hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) you should call your Primary Care team.

Examples of problems TCP can help you with:

  • You have a problem and would ordinarily come into Urgent Care for treatment.
  • You have a clinic appointment coming up but you have a problem you think cannot wait.
  • You have questions about preparation for lab tests, x-rays, minor procedures or upcoming tests.
